Цель. Целью работы является анализ географических связей Tenebrionidae, результат которого должен лечь в основу фауногенеза Тетийской области Палеарктики. Методы. В основу работы был положен материал, собранный авторами в различных республиках и областях Кавказа, юга европейской части России, Казахстана и Северной Африки за 50 лет (с 1961 по 2016 год), а также обширные литературные данные. Для анализа сходства фаун Тетийской области использовался кластерный анализ на основе коэффициента сходства Жаккара, учитывающий положительные совпадения. Инвазивные виды не включались в анализ. Результаты. Дан обширный обзор истории изучения Tenebrionidae Западной Палеарктики с середины XIX века до наших дней. Намечены основные направления современных исследований. В Тетийской области распространены 403 рода чернотелок, включая лесные группы тропического происхождения, транспалеарктические и космополитные виды, что составляет 63% от всех известных палеарктических родов (640 родов) тенебрионид. Три четверти из них (304 рода, или 75%), объединяющих 5674 вида, составляют преимущественно ксерофильные роды, не встречающиеся за пределами области или представленные лишь очень небольшим количеством видов из пограничных с ней регионов. Доказательства общего исторического развития тенебрионидофауны проявляются в количестве 24 общих (тетийских)   родов, широко распространенных в Тетийской области или немного выходящих за ее границы, но имеющих очень высокое видовое и подродовое разнообразие (вероятно, и центр происхождения) в пределах именно этого региона. Cущественная доля (61%) общететийских родов, высокое разнообразие крупных палеарктических родов Tenebrionidae в западной и восточной частях Тетийской области, а также наличие комплекса супралиторальных реликтов древних морей (Западный Тетис и Восточный Паратетис) из рода Ectromopsis свидетельствуют о единой области формирования фауны чернотелок,    исторически    связанной    с    эпиконтинентальным    палеогеновым    океаном    Тетис.    Выделяется 2 суперрегиона  (с западно-тетийским и восточно-тетийским комплексами таксонов), каждый из которых разделен на несколько субрегонов, отличающихся высоким уровнем таксономического разнообразия. Это деление основано на анализе количества видов и родов, а также уровне эндемизма Tenebrionidae. Наибольшее родовое, видовое разнообразие, а также количество эндемиков отмечается в Северной Африке и Средней Азии. Кластерный анализ общих для области родов, тетийских родов, общих для области видов и рода Blaps на всех дендрограммах показывает сходство фаун Анатолии и Балкан, Кавказ сходет по видовому и родовому составу с Ираном. На всех дендрограммах с большей или меньшей четкостью выделяются два выделенных ранее супперрегиона. При анализе тетийских родов Аравийский полуостров и Северная Африка имеют древние связи с двумя суперрегионами, а при анализе всех видов Тетийской области Арабский полуостров и Ближний Восток имеют древние связи с западно-тетийской и восточно-тетийской фаунами. Заключение. Тенебрионидофауна ряда регионов Тетийской области формировалась по островному типу. Анализ распределения и таксономического разнообразия чернотелок свидетельствует о длительном развитии тенебрионидофаун прибрежных и островных экосистем океана Тетис, а впоследствии независимом расцвете фауны тенебрионид в различных районах тетийского пустынно-степного пояса по мере отступления вод океана, аридизации и орогенеза. При этом в островных горных лесах Анатолии и Атласа с позднетретичной флорой сохранились реликтовые элементы палеогенового происхождения.
